Into May

We are into May and we are still skijoring strong - Woo Hoo!
It was a beautiful day to enjoy all the snow still on the trails at Vail Pass.
Cruising along Shrine Pass Rd and taking in the beautiful views all around us.

Some day soon things will start to melt at Vail Pass; but not today...
Perfect midwinter conditions on Lime Creek Rd in May!
It is a shame it takes about 4 miles to get to Lime Creek Rd (and then another 4 to get back)
because the conditions on Lime Creek are perfect for endless skijoring!
We climbed Shrine Pass twice, once from the front and once from the back.
Here we are arriving at the top after our second climb.
It is "all white" as far as the eye can see on May 2nd!!!

Today's video highlight is a rare "view from the front" as Nancy captured us on her iPhone as we arrived at the trailhead to complete the day. The iPhone video quality is not nearly as good as we usually have with the GoPro; but it is fun to get a "front view" now & then.
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

At our turnaround point on Lime Creek - happy, happy boys:
"February conditions in May - we love it!" express the happy brothers.

An incredible skijor day in May covering 10.2 miles with 1000 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 19 MPH.

2013/2014 Season to Date: 141 days on the trails covering 1225.2 miles with 140,700 feet of elevation climbed.
