25MPH Day

All smiles at our turnaround point of the morning on Rabbit Ears Pass!
"Such a fun day!" exclaims happy Max.
"I'm having a BLAST!" says smiling Zorro.
We arrived to Rabbit Ears Pass to find 1-2 inches of untouched fresh snow atop the otherwise packed trails. We did an "out & back" on the same trail and did not see another soul on the trails until the last 5 minutes of the day. Laying fresh tracks out & back almost all day long - fun!
Max "kicking up powder" as he sprints in the morning's fresh snow.
Zorro launching himself along the trail - wheeee!
The tracks you see to our left are our own tracks.
An immaculate day with pristine conditions. Zoom....
Once again, laying fresh tracks on the right of the trail with our "out tracks" to the left.
You might think that laying fresh tracks would slow Max & Zorro down. Well, actually, 1-2 inches of fresh snow is probably our "perfect conditions". To witness, the GPS clocked us going 25 MPH this morning.

For the day's fun video clip, I have spliced together 3 segments where I was saying to myself, "We are flying, I wonder how fast?!?" So, hitting 25 MPH happened at least once in this fun set of clips. Wheeee!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]
