Scent of Moose

Scent of Moose on the trail today? You bet! Just ask Max:
"Sniff, sniff - ah, the beautiful scent of moose!" declares Max.
"Searching, searching... where are the moose?" states forest scanning Zorro.

Today's video highlight can be summarized in one word: peaceful! Watch a snippet as I am gliding behind trotting Max & Zorro as we cruise through open meadows and dense forests. This went on for miles & miles today - so peaceful!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

We did an "out & back" in French Gulch this morning. It was laying fresh tracks in about 2 inches of new snow the entire "out direction".
Trotting along with the fresh snow all to ourselves!

Even the "back direction" found us laying fresh tracks on wide sections of trail. Why run back in your "out tracks" when you can lay fresh tracks instead? Wheeee!
Zoom, zoom - laying fresh tracks on the left side of the trail.
The tracks to the right are our "out tracks".

Scent of Moose and Moose Tracks today but we failed to spot an actual moose. Still fun to fill your nose with moose!
At our turnaround point far back in French Gulch.
"Having a great time! My nose is full of 'moose fun'!" declares happy Max.
"Hold on... snowcones - yum, yum!" demonstrates silly Zorro.

A peaceful day gliding out & back in French Gulch and entertaining our moose noses: 8.2 miles traveled with 800 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 19 MPH.

2015/2016 Season to Date: 52 days on the trails covering 441.2 miles with 46600 feet of elevation climbed.
