Fast & Frisky

Feeling "fast & frisky" on this morning's skijor. Right Max?
"Hehe - I'm feeling giddy! You ready to GO little bro?!?" says frisky Max to Zorro as we sprint
atop the spring crust.
Some days we have a planned route on our skijor outing and some days we simply see where the terrain will take us. Today was one such meander as we abandoned marked trails and toured the spring crust atop Rabbit Ears Pass for miles & miles.

Today's fun video clip showcases us following nothing but Max & Zorro as we tour the crust. You will notice I am not calling out any 'lefts' or 'rights' as I am letting Max & Zorro "pick the path" as long as they stay in sync and agreement with one another. Endless, endless fun! Look closely and you can see light snowfall coming down around us. Yay Snow!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

Of course, sprinting for miles & miles in springtime can make you hot...
"Rub a dub dub, rolling snow angels to cool off!" demonstrates silly Max.
"Chomp, chomp - eating snow to cool off!" shows silly Zorro.
Done cooling off, back to the theme of the day: fast & frisky:
Zoom, zoom, zoooom we go!
Eventually the crust ended at the edge of the forest. Everyone ready to turnaround?
"You bet, let's go just as fast back!" declare the happy & agreeable pair.

A "day without plans" as we simply followed the crust as far as it could take us: 9.3 miles traveled with 1000 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.

2016/2017 Season to Date: 118 days on the trails covering 987.1 miles with 104,900 feet of elevation climbed.
