Snow Day

Trail breaking skijoring in upwards of 18 inches of fresh powder with active snowfall all around us! FUN!
A "partially clear" shot of the trail breaking trio powering through roughly 18 inches of powder. POW!
The prior shot is about all you get for clear footage today. It was snowing so hard that the camera kept getting covered & blurred by snow. Here is what most of the day's footage looked like:
You can barely make out Rudy powering through 18 inches of POW while Zorro & Jack are
completely obscured by snow blurs :)
Our plan was to start in the deep snow in the backcountry and connect onto the groomed trails of Gold Run Nordic Center. Well, the groomer was way behind schedule and we found ourselves breaking trail in 18+ inches in the backcountry and 15+ inches in the nordic center! Eventually we encountered the groomer coming up the trail:
"Cool, huh little bro?" says groomer inspecting Zorro to groomer inspecting Rudy.
Polite Jack is behind me to the right watching the groomer too, just not with as much
focus as intense Zorro & Rudy :)
We had been aerobically breaking trail for over 2.7 miles in super deep snow. You would think everyone would be a little tired, right? Well, all the trio needed was to catch their breath as we let the groomer go by and then it was "Groomie Zoomie" for the last 1/2 mile of the morning's outing. Come along for our restart after the groomer just went by. Zoom we go as the GoPro gets blurrier and blurrier from the active snowfall collecting on the camera.

Good news - Nancy had her unblurrred camera at the trailhead to get a great shot of us finishing the day on the groomie zoomie:
Happy, happy sled dogs pulling me to the end of the day's run.
Finally, here's one for the books. Our first "triple snow angel"! Wow:
"Hey, this is fun! and TASTY!" says snow rolling & eating Rudy.
"Ah, I do love a good head dunking snow angel occasionally!" adds dunking Zorro.
"Hey, wait for me!" declares Jack dropping into his angel after Zorro & Rudy already
started theirs.
A day with footage happily blurred by active snowfall. A day with short mileage due to happily breaking trail in 15-18 (and more) inches of fresh powder! 3.2 miles traveled with 300 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 18 MPH.

2018/2019 Season to Date: 65 days on the trails covering 348.7 miles with 31,250 feet of elevation climbed.
