25 MPH

Hitting our top speed of the season this morning: 25.4 MPH. Zoom!

Jack & Rudy hitting 25.4 MPH on the trail this morning. Wheeee!

We have been hitting 22-24 MPH regularly as a daily top speed and I've been waiting for Jack & Rudy to burst past this and hit 25 or 26 MPH. Well, today was the day as the GPS clocked us at 25.4 MPH!

Somewhere along the way in this short video clip, we hit 25.4 MPH. Come along and watch the fast fun. Wheeee! What trail is this? Well, it's Gluteus Maximus Trail at Breckenridge Nordic Center. We've been waiting all season for this particular trail to finally have enough snow to be opened. Jack & Rudy sure showed their appreciation for this trail finally being open for business!

[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

After that fun burst, we did a couple of laps around the rest of the nordic center to get 10.1 miles of skijoring in for the day. Lap one passing Kathy's Viewpoint warming hut:

Flying on by, wheeee!

Lap two by Kathy's Viewpoint. Note Jack & Rudy have switched positions:

Switched positions, same result. Zoom :)

A very satisfying day for the fast & fun three year olds, just ask them:

"Fun, fun, FUN!!!!" exclaims the happy pair.

A fast day leads to well-earned end of run treats:

"I taught them, so I earned them too!" declares elder Zorro.
"Yum, I can taste them already!" slurps Jack.
"So much fun today!" adds happy Rudy.

Top speed of the season this morning: 10.1 miles traveled with 1000 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 25 MPH!

2020/2021 Season to Date: 62 days on the trails covering 493.8 miles with 43,700 feet of elevation climbed.
