What Goes Up

After skijoring up steep Baldy Mountain this morning, we got to enjoy the fast ride down!
Opening up the throttle as we fly down the Baldy Mountain Trail - wheeee!

It was a rare treat on the way up - laying fresh tracks in the morning's new snow. Baldy is a very popular trail, so laying fresh tracks on Baldy is a rare treat. There was an existing set of tracks for the first mile or so; but then we were first on the fresh snow the rest of the way up. Fun!
Freshies! Love carving our own trail in the freshies!

What goes up, must come down... The ride down Baldy is always fast & fun. Here is a video clip of our favorite straightaway on the way down - zoom! And, yes, I almost lose it in an unexpected dip in the trail about 30 seconds into this clip; but I was able to recover - phew!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

Our favorite activity on Baldy is flying down as you saw in the prior video clip. Our second favorite activity on Baldy is putting smiles on the faces of people we encounter...
"Hi, bye... Glad to put a smile on your faces!" say Max & Zorro trotting by a group of hikers.

It was a fun day all around. Just ask Max & Zorro:
"Love the 'Baldy Climb Up' followed by 'Baldy Free Fall Down'!" declare the very happy
and satisfied pair at a quick break point on the trail.

Great morning in fresh snow on steep Baldy: 7.2 miles traveled with 1400 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.

2015/2016 Season to Date: 92 days on the trails covering 780.9 miles with 83950 feet of elevation climbed.
