Still Snowing

Fun skijor this 1st of "Mayuary" as we had 2-8 inches of new snow on the trails!
Nice shot by Nancy from the front as you see the happy, happy sled dogs towing me to the
finish of the day's run!
We skijored the cross country trails spanning Peaks 6 & 7 near Breckenridge Ski Resort this morning. The amount of new snow was quite dramatic between the lower elevation trailhead and the upper elevations of our outing. We found about 2 inches of new snow near the trailhead and were able to open up the throttle down low:
Zipping along with about 2 inches of snow and a few existing tracks on the trail.
Compare the prior photo to the following - talk about a difference in snow depth! The following photo is near our highest point as we had just turned around to start back down. We were first tracks on the trail at this point and we turned to ride in the track we set back down. Despite setting a track on the way up, we still had to plow through deep snow on the return! Powder POW:
Zorro, Jack & Rudy kicking up powder in at least 8 inches of fresh snow up high!
You can barely see Jack in the middle with all the powder around him!
We were cruising along at one point and Jack & Rudy did a "stop, drop & roll" in the middle of the trail. Silly kids couldn't wait for our turnaround point to get in their snow angel antics!
"Can't believe they just stopped & dropped!" says Zorro.
"Ahhhhh!' say Jack & Rudy :)
For today's short video fun, we have Nancy capturing us at the finish of the day's outing. Watch the happy sled dogs tow me to & past Nancy and then watch as they all stop perfectly on command at the end of the trail. Such good partners!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

Finally, celebrating a great start to "Mayuary" and the end of the outing:
"You have my FULL attention!" declares intense Zorro.
"Look at us happily & patiently waiting our turn!" add young Jack & Rudy.
What a great start to May: 6.3 miles traveled with 700 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 18 MPH.

2018/2019 Season to Date: 108 days on the trails covering 615.3 miles with 57,500 feet of elevation climbed.
