Zoom Loop

We did two laps around our favorite little "zoom loop" today. Zoom, zoom, zoom!
Out-stretched, airborne sprinting Siberians -wheeee!

This little zoom loop is tucked away in the forest and requires a technical ski in and out to use. But it is always worth it!
On the narrow trail leading to the little zoom loop.

Once we get to the zoom loop, we are rewarded with a 2 mile speed loop that we did twice today. Here is a fun video excerpt from the speedway. Yes, my right ski is often in a snowplow position for control even though we are topping 23 MPH - Siberian Acceleration at its best!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

Go fast or chase squirrels, which do you think would win? Max & Zorro are such good & focused skijoring machines!
Squirrel running to the right only gets a glance from my partners who do not even break stride
or drift off trail. "Go fast" clearly wins over "chase squirrel" - they have their priorities right!

Done with our two zoom loops, time for the technical exit out of the forest:
"Did you say technical? Ok, let's go off road!" declares Max looking at the possibility of skiing
down the ravine to the left (silly Max :-)
An 8.6 mile outing with 800 feet of elevation climbed and a 23 MPH zoom loop in the middle.

2014/2015 Season to Date: 33 days on the trails covering 270.2 miles with 29,150 feet of elevation climbed.
