This to That

Goofy Jack showing silly Rudy how to get proper "leg extension" while rolling snow angels :)
"See, you roll over and extend all legs upward!" demonstrates goofy Jack.
"Oh, I see, nice leg extension!" adds onlooking Rudy while rolling his own snow angel.
Look at this cool shot of Jack & Rudy breaking trail in 18+ inches of fresh powder! With snow this deep, we started the day without older Zorro to give the kids some trail breaking exercise:
Snorkeling through 18+ inches of fresh powder! POW!
We skijored that (18+ inches of trail breaking) to get to this: a groomed nordic sprint track.
First tracks on the freshly groomed sprint track - zoom!
We skijored that (the nordic sprint track) to get to this: adding Zorro to the team to finish the day as a fast & fun threesome!
All smiles, all power - wheeee!
It was quite the interesting day for young Jack & Rudy. I believe this is the first time Rudy has been breaking trail for over 1/3 a mile continuously and the first time Jack has been breaking trail for over a contiguous 1/2 mile. What did they do? Well, they broke trail continuously for about 1.5 miles in 18+ inches of powder. Wow, the kids are becoming adult sled dogs! The two youngsters had a blast towing me through the trail breaking fun!

We did what was one of my favorite combination trails with Max & Zorro back in their prime: breaking trail deep in the backcountry to eventually drop onto a fast & fun groomed nordic track. Jack & Rudy pretty much looked like Max & Zorro in their prime. What an entertaining day!

Today's video highlight is "this to that". Come along as we break trail in 18+ inches of powder and then top 22 MPH on a groomed nordic track. A wonderful "this to that" day!

Finally, no outing seems to be complete lately without a Jack Dunk and Rudy Dive :)
"DUNK - rodent hunting!" demonstrates dunking Jack.
"Incoming rodent swan dive!" demonstrates graceful Rudy :)
What a beautiful outing for Jack & Rudy's first extended day breaking trail with a fast groomed nordic track as your trail breaking reward: 8.4 miles traveled with 700 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.

2019/2020 Season to Date: 40 days on the trails covering 266.3 miles with 26,500 feet of elevation climbed.
