Fresh Rabbits

Laying Fresh Tracks on Rabbit Ears Pass most of the day today. Fresh Rabbits :-)
"Love tickling our toes in the freshies!" say my happy partners looking back when I called out
time to turnaround and head back to the trailhead.

We found ourselves zooming around the trails at Rabbit Ears laying fresh tracks in 2-4 inches of snow all day. What a treat...
Zooming along! It looks like untouched snow as far as the eye can see but it was really
2-4 inches of fresh snow on an otherwise fast-packed trail.

A short video clip capturing the theme of the day's outing - freshies & zoom. The ski track you might notice to our left is our "out track" on this trail. Laying fresh tracks both directions - wheeee!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

We found a snowmobile track for the last 1 to 1.5 miles of the outing. Other than this track, we were on fresh snow all day.
Sprinting to the end of our 9.4 mile outing - what a fun day!

A day of freshies covering 9.4 miles with 900 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 23 MPH.

2014/2015 Season to Date: 91 days on the trails covering 789.1 miles with 83,500 feet of elevation climbed.
