2 Day Recap

Jack & Rudy are very satisfied with their 15.2 miles of skijoring across Friday and Saturday mornings:

"Yes, very satisfied!" exclaims the happy pair.

We had two very entertaining skijors on Friday and Saturday morning.

Friday found us skijoring the wide and well-used Sally Barber Mine Trail to start and finish the outing. In between, though, we ventured off track onto some narrow single track trails. We spent most of our time on Friday's outing on single tracks:

Trotting along a narrow trail through the forest.

But, we spent most of our distance on Friday's outing on the wide Sally Barber Trail:

Zipping along the wide main trail. Zoom!

Come along to see why we got most of our distance on the wide trail despite spending most of our time on the narrow trails. Wide trails mean FAST! Zoom!

We love meeting up with elder Zorro to end every run. Hi Zorro!!!

"Hi Zorro!" says Jack, Rudy and I :)

Friday's skijor tally: 6.8 miles traveled with 700 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.

In contrast to the "backcountry nature" of Friday's outing, Saturday found us on the beautiful wide trails of Breckenridge Nordic Center. We had some fresh snow yesterday afternoon and evening and found ourselves being second and third tracks in the morning's fresh snow:

I love the views to our right from this stretch of trail!
Oh, and nice view of sprinting Jack & Rudy too with powder puffs
flying up behind Jack!

We ventured to the highest point of the nordic center, hoping to find untouched snow far and high away from the trailhead. But, surprisingly, one skier had beat us to it (it is a LOT of work to get out & up here without sled dog assistance):

Second tracks, surprisingly, far out on the highest elevation trail at
Breck Nordic Center.

Now come along for the video counterpart of the prior photo. Here we go zooming along this beautiful high elevation trail. Wheeee!

Every outing is not complete until we share 'end of run' treats with Zorro:

Front & center Zorro :)
Look at what a patient gentleman young Rudy has matured into!!!

Saturday's tally: 8.4 miles traveled with 800 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 23 MPH.

2020/2021 Season to Date: 34 days on the trails covering 263.7 miles with 24,200 feet of elevation climbed.
