Trail Sharing

Love this shot of super happy Jack & Rudy at our turnaround point on the trail this morning:

You can't get facial expressions much happier than this!!!

We had a great morning going FAST along the recently groomed snowmobile trails at Harrison Creek on Rabbit Ears Pass. How fun & fast, just look:

The "hover husky" brothers floating atop the fast groomed trail. Wheee!

We share this network of trails with snowmobiles. In fact, Jack & Rudy (and I) are members of the Routt Powder Riders snowmobile club that maintains these trails. Jack & Rudy are snow machines themselves after all :) But, Jack & Rudy know how to interact with the fellow snow machines. Just slow down, move to over to the right, and pass on by gently:

All 3 snow machines (Jack, Rudy, and snowmobile) moving to the right
and slowing down to pass on by safely :)

Today's video highlight showcases Jack & Rudy's trail skills in this area. We start out flying along a fast snowmobile trail. Then, we encounter snowmobiles coming towards us. I shorten the gangline for caution, but not needed as Jack & Rudy perfectly slow down, move over to the right and continue gently on by the line of snowmobiles. Impressive kids!

I mentioned that the first photo was at our turnaround point of the outing. Well, you know what happened just before the happy face shot:

Turnaround time, roll around time :)

Back to the trailhead to tell Zorro about our fun outing as we share 'end of run' treats:

Happy trio awaiting their treats!

Great day on the trails with young Jack & Rudy showcasing their incredible trail sharing skills: 7.9 miles traveled with 700 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 23 MPH.

2020/2021 Season to Date: 35 days on the trails covering 271.6 miles with 24,900 feet of elevation climbed.
