Passing 200

Surpassing 200 miles of skijoring for the 2020/2021 season this morning!

Nice views of the lower ski runs of Breckenridge Ski Resort along the way:

Cool shot of the ski runs below the morning clouds as the upper
runs of Breck Ski Resort are "in the clouds".

This morning we skijored up Baldy Mountain, across Baldy to Boreas via backcountry trails and then down wide Boreas.

The main Baldy trail is well known and well used. So, it was a wide trail to ride up behind Jack & Rudy:

Riding the "Siberian Husky Tow Rope" up Baldy Mountain. Wheeee!

By contrast, the connector from Baldy to Boreas is a seldom used backcountry trail that was barely "2 Siberians Wide". It occurred to me as we were cruising along this narrow connector that Jack & Rudy are still pretty new to narrow trails. They still need some verbal encouragement from me along the way that is is "ok" to be rubbing shoulders as you squeeze into a narrow trail. But, they are definitely getting the hang of it :)

"Got it! We can squeeze into this narrow single track!" demonstrates
the smart & maturing sled dog brothers!

Once on Boreas, though, it was wide trails and pedal to the metal. Come along for a fun glimpse of the ride along Boreas:

Finally, the standard 'end of run' treats party with Zorro to conclude the day:

"Ready!" declares focused Zorro.
"I'm anticipating the tasty treats already!" says slurping Rudy.
"I see the treats in your hands!" adds locked in Jack.

A very quaint & peaceful skijor up/over/down Baldy and Boreas this morning: 8.7 miles traveled with 800 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 20 MPH.

2020/2021 Season to Date: 27 days on the trails covering 207.2 miles with 18,100 feet of elevation climbed.
