Fresh Tracks Day

Fun "shot from the front" as Jack, Rudy and I glide to the finish of this morning's skijor:

All smiles from the fun kids as we complete the morning run!

It was an amazing day of laying fresh tracks and breaking trail atop Rabbit Ears Pass. There was 5-8 inches of snow our entire route and we were FIRST on the trail. The beautiful pictures will do more justice than words. See for yourself:

Untouched snow as far as the eye can see as we head north!

How about this one...

Headed southward now, same results. Breaking trail in untouched
snow for miles and miles!

If you like the photos, wait until you see today's video clip of the "powder twins" propelling me through 5-8 inches of fresh powder. What a fun workout:

[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

I could watch that video over & over (I already have :) I love watching Jack & Rudy power through powder. What impressive sled dogs!

Back to the trailhead to celebrate another fun outing with elder Zorro:

Happy and very polite & patient kids awaiting 'end of run' treats!

We only had time for a short run this morning. But, oh boy was it an entertaining and aerobic trail breaking outing! 5.4 miles traveled with 400 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 17 MPH.

2020/2021 Season to Date: 19 days on the trails covering 140.4 miles with 12,700 feet of elevation climbed.
