View Shot

A great "view shot" at our turnaround point atop Rabbit Ears Pass today:
A quick break to take in the Rocky Mountains as far as the eye could see.
"We prefer 'moose views'!" say my partners not as impressed with the panorama as me...

We were skijoring in near blizzard conditions yesterday, so we knew there would be great fresh snow on the trails today. We got out early to be the first tracks and wow did we succeed!!! We had 3-7 inches of fresh powder to ourselves all day on our outing on Rabbit Ears Pass.
Happily gliding along in about 5-7 inches of beautiful fresh powder.
3-4 inches all to ourselves - wheee!

We had only 2 occasions to stop on the trail today. The first stop was for the silly human at our turnaround point to take in the impressive 360 views. The second stop was to inspect fresh moose tracks. Moose tracks are Max & Zorro's kryptonite. They cannot run by fresh moose tracks, such tracks must be inspected (and then the surrounding terrain scanned in hopes of finding the moose). One awe inspiring view for me and one moose view for them - other than that it was endless & serene skijoring laying fresh tracks all day long!
"Fresh moose tracks! <sniff> <sniff> <sniff> Now this is worth stopping for!" demonstrate the moose
distracted pair.

A "fresh tracks day" to ourselves on the trails today covering 8.4 miles with 900 feet of elevation climbed.

2014/2015 Season to Date: 12 days on the trails covering 94.4 miles with 10350 feet of elevation climbed.
