Angels

A beautiful morning for a beautiful shot of the happy sled dogs towing me to the finish of a fast & fun outing!
"Hi Mom!!!!!" says Zorro & Rudy flashing a smile towards Nancy on the
side of the trail as we fly by.
"Forward motion! Go, go, go!" adds forward-focused, but smiling too, Jack.
We gave Zorro most of this morning off as I took Jack & Rudy for a fast & furious outing on the groomed trails at and nearby Gold Run Nordic Center. But, as you see above, we added Zorro to the team to complete the outing as a fast & furious trio flying along the groomed nordic trails.

It was a rare day of "snow angels all around" as everyone (except me) rolled snow angels today. Here are the usual characters, Jack & Rudy, rolling snow angels once we transitioned from a skinny side trail and onto the wide groomie zoomie trail.
"Ah, rub a dub dub!" demonstrate the snow rolling twins.
At the end of today's run, we got the rare snow angel from Zorro. Zorro will roll an angel now & then but nothing like the frequency of Jack & Rudy. Jack is at 100% as he's rolled a snow angel on EVERY outing of his young career. Rudy is almost at Jack's level as he's rolled a snow angel on about 90% of the outings of his young career. Zorro, on the other hand, saves snow rolling for the infrequent moments when he just feels like a roll in the snow!
"I may not roll them EVERY outing, but I'm still a snow rolling pro!" demonstrates
Zorro giving us a rare, but perfect, snow roll at the end of today's run.
"Yum, snowcones!" adds Jack next to Zorro.
"Tasty back here too!" adds Rudy mostly hidden behind Jack but eating snow too.
Aside from rolling snow angels, we also did some skijoring this morning. We started on side trails near the nordic center. These particular trails get groomed occasionally by a skinny groomer (a snowmobile towing a groomer sled). We were second tracks on the skinny trails and were zooming all morning long!
Jack & Rudy flooring it on the fast but narrow skinny groomie zoomie.
Eventually we transitioned onto the wide trails of Gold Run Nordic Center and were thrilled to find we were first tracks on the freshly groomed trails. First tracks + groomed trail = zoom!
Love the snow poofs behind Jack & Rudy as we are first tracks
on a perfect groomed trail!
Come along for some first tracks fun with Jack & Rudy. We topped 24 MPH skijoring this morning on the fast groomie zoomie trails!

After some speeding with the youngsters, we added Zorro in to continue speeding on the groomie zoomies. What a fun shot of the tightly packed sled dog trio zooming on the fast trails:
Zoom!
Fast & furious fun with Jack & Rudy which then continued at fast & furious fun with Zorro, Jack and Rudy and a rare day of "snow angels all around": 8.4 miles traveled with 600 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 24 MPH.

2019/2020 Season to Date: 111 days on the trails covering 753.2 miles with 69,200 feet of elevation climbed.
