Fun Interrupted

Rolling snow angels to cool off at the historic Sallie Barber Mine :)

Oh those goofy kids; but don't they look like they are in pure heaven
rolling in the snow!

Today's skijor took us up the front side of Sallie Barber Mine, then down the back side, then turn around and up the back side to then finish down the front side.

Here are the kids zipping along the back side:

Hitting a pretty fast top speed along the perfect trail.
If you look closely at the upper center of this photo, the white lines
you see on the mountain ahead of us are the ski runs of Breckenridge
Ski Resort on Peak 6.

When you roll snow angels on the first pass by the mine, then you have no reason to stop on the second pass :)

Already rolled here, let's sprint on by this time!

Past the mine and time to open up the throttle skijoring along the front side of the mine.

Pedal to the metal, wheeee!

Today's video clip is "fun interrupted". The clip starts with us cruising along one of our favorite stretches of the Sallie Barber Mine Trail. I then notice Jack dipping his head to sniff the trail. Given the trail we were on, this means Jack has caught the scent of a moose (eek) or a recent loose dog (he wouldn't care unless the dog prints were VERY recent). Well, sure enough, as we round our favorite corner (which usually leads to a fast/fun straightaway), there's the loose dog. It's then "fun interrupted" as we have to stop as you cannot run by a loose dog safely. Oh well, we still had a blast before the dog and after the owner finally noticed us and stopped for us to pass by.

Back to the trailhead for fun handing out end of run treats.

Smiles all around as we dole out the treats!

Today's skijor tally: 7.2 miles traveled with 600 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.

2023/2024 Season to Date: 34 days on the trails covering 277.8 miles with 26,500 feet of elevation climbed.
