The Scent of Moose

Wednesday morning found us flying around the trails in the search for moose...

"Faster, faster - the scent of moose is coming from this direction!" exclaim my
speedy & airborne partners.

We never actually saw a moose nor did we even see moose tracks (except from afar). But, my partners were clearly "juiced" about something as they were on high alert all day. I've come to understand this behavior as "moose juice" - so I can only assume the scent of moose was present in the air and we were on a mission to find the source of the scent :-)

"Must be this way - if only we weren't attached to that human deadweight!"
"Eeeek - the creek! U-turn!" say happy Max & Zorro as we ran into an exposed section of
French Creek and had to turn around (note the water hole behind Zorro).
I love the "mountain covered by sun" in the foreground as we have yet to get the
morning sun on our section of trail.
"We've seen moose from this EXACT location before. All Siberians on High Alert!"
as Max & Zorro look off intensely when I stopped to adjust some of my equipment.
Anyone who thinks dogs do not have precise & infinite memories has
never met a Siberian Husky!

It was a great day of "riding the sled runners (skis)" and watching my pals on an
endless trot.
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

A day driven by the scent of moose covering 9.1 miles with 1100 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 18 MPH.
