Every Type of Terrain

Today's skijor outing found us traversing every type of terrain...

"We enjoyed all the terrain! Do we have to head back to the trailhead?"
say happy Max & Zorro.

(1) We were jogging in deep snowmobile tracks:
High snow walls along this snowmobile track taking us across an open meadow.

(2) We were trotting in snowshoe tracks:
Nice scenery as we followed these snowshoe tracks to the top of a plateau.

(3) We were laying our own fresh tracks:
An untouched trail leading deep into the forest.

(4) We were riding Max's long-legged trail breaking skills:
Nobody but us Siberians have climbed this trail recently - deep snow to carve ourselves.

(5) We were sprinting over 21 MPH on fast straightaways:

Zoom, zoom, zoom as we fly along this snowmobile path!

Today's outing covered 8.6 miles with 1000 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 21 MPH.

This brings our 2013/2014 season totals to 500.1 miles with 58,700 feet of elevation climbed for 58 days on the trails.
