Today found us using parts of the same trail as yesterday; and the "shared section" is where we spotted the family of 3 moose...
"Has anyone seen our moose? They were in this meadow yesterday! Where did they go?" ask curious Max & Zorro intensely surveying the moose meadow. |
Laying fresh tracks up the main French Gulch trail. |
Following the existing track near Sally Barber Mine. Darn, someone beat us to "first tracks" on this trail! |
Today's video features Zorro trying his hardest to find a way to keep up with sprinting Max. The video starts with a fun corner around some trees, up a little incline and then into a sprint straightaway. The only problem is the straightaway has a single "set track" and a couple of inches of powder out of the track and Max has grabbed the set track to himself. Watch determined little Zorro bouncing in & out of the track versus powder, trying to find a way to fit in the sprint track with his brother...

It is a busy weekend and French Gulch & Sally Barber are popular trails; so we got up early and did a fast short run to get on & off the trails before the crowds... 7.1 miles with 700 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 19 MPH.
2013/2014 Season to Date: 65 days on the trails covering 556.3 miles with 65,350 feet of elevation climbed.
