Leap

Leaping (or floating) along the trails at Rabbit Ears Pass for this leap year day!
"Leap year floating...." demonstrates airborne Max.
"Leap year flying...." demonstrates out-stretched Zorro.

A great day touring up, down and around Rabbit Ears Pass. Instead of following the set trails at Rabbit Ears, we would pick a snowmobile track and follow it for miles before hopping into another snowmobile tracks for a few more miles, and then another track, etc. etc. As a result, we found some unique terrain at Rabbit Ears that we have not seen before. Fun!
"I've never rolled a snow angel here before!" declares silly Max.
"Silly! I am going to try and get this team moving again!" states Zorro.

We found this cute little abandoned cabin tucked away in the trees. Given the history of Rabbit Ears, this is more likely an abandoned "rancher's cabin" than a "miner's cabin." Zorro glanced inside while Max suggested this was a perfect vacation getaway!
"Not much inside - I'll check the perimeter!" says Zorro after peeking in the door.
"Now this is a 5-star, luxury vacation villa for a Siberian!" declares happy Max.

Role reversal at our quick midpoint break....
"Aahhh - rub a dub dub!" says snow angel rolling Zorro.
"Silly - *I* would never do that!" states funny Max.

Rolling snow angels and exploring abandoned cabins in between the primary action of the day - skijor sprinting. Wheeee!
"Feb 29th sure is a great day - we should have one every year!" declare the sprinting pair.

Fun day exploring non-standard parts of Rabbit Ears by following solo snowmobile tracks: 9 miles traveled with 1000 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.

2015/2016 Season to Date: 86 days on the trails covering 733.8 miles with 77650 feet of elevation climbed.
