Loose

I think Rudy was having a good time out on the trails today. Don't you agree?

"I'm having a BLAST!" declares ecstatic Rudy at a quick pause this morning.

We did a quick outing this morning that incorporate 2 laps around the fast & fun trails at Gold Run Nordic Center. In addition to the fast/fun trails, we had added entertainment along on stretch: moose tracks!

Look to the far left in this photo and that is a set of moose tracks going
along the trail with us! Jack & Rudy saw the tracks a bit earlier than
this point. They gave the tracks a quick sniff for freshness and declared,
"GO! Must catch the moose!" (luckily we never did :)

Come along for the video counterpart of the prior photo. If you watch closely, you can see the moose tracks going along the left of the trail at various times in this clip. Near the end of the clip, I'm getting as giddy as Jack & Rudy with the moose tracks and you'll hear me saying, "A moose on the loose, what to do with a moose on the loose?" I often say silly things like this with Jack & Rudy while searching for moose. They know the word "moose" and go faster whenever I say anything with the word "moose" in it. So why not say "a moose on the loose?" :)

After 2 fast nordic loops, it was time to exit the nordic center. But, first, we must stop, drop and roll to cool our jets after the fast laps:

"Ahhhh!" demonstrates the silly snow rolling kids.

After rolling around to cool the jets, it was time for a gentle jog to the finish on the narrow Upper Flume Trail:

Trotting along as we wind through the forest on Upper Flume.

Finally, all smiles as we celebrate another day on the trails with end of run treats:

"Ready! Dish them out!" says the happy trio.

A quick outing this morning covering 6.6 miles with 400 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 23 MPH.

2020/2021 Season to Date: 74 days on the trails covering 594.3 miles with 51,800 feet of elevation climbed.
