First Vail Pass

Young Jack & Rudy's first skijor at Vail Pass this morning.
Veteran Zorro's 93rd time skijoring Vail Pass :)
Youngest Rudy's first skijor over 7 miles this morning (7.6 miles total).
What a fun day!
"Now this is THE LIFE!" state the ecstatic pair enjoying Rudy's first "over 7 mile" skijor.
It was an absolutely beautiful bluebird morning with excellent trail conditions. Look at this incredible shot from the start of the day's run:
Flying sled dogs, perfect terrain and beautiful blue skies.
Boy was I expecting some beautiful video/photo footage from this morning's outing. But, take a look at this shot and uh-oh...
The blur left/center in this shot is a water spot on the GoPro.
Oh man... The prior photo is one of the few where the spot was not blurring one of the three fun guys. The spot was a result of slush flying off their feet and into the camera. But, I had no idea this spot developed less than 5 minutes into our outing and was there the rest of the day. Even worse, note that in the photos and video the spot has moved. This means it eventually dried but was continually replaced by a new slush bomb coming off the group's feet and into the camera! Darn...

If you can ignore the spot, come along for a short video clip from the morning. You can see the beauty of the day all around the spot. Oh the incredible footage we would have gotten without this annoying spot!
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

2/3rds of the way through the outing and time to turnaround...
"Turnaround? Rolling snow angels!" declares Jack.
"He's at it again!" adds Zorro.
"Why do we have to turnaround?" questions Rudy.
Jack finished his snow angel and, then, before we could get restarted look at what happened next:
"My turn, my turn! It is my longest run after all!" says Rudy now rolling a snow angel too.
"Not him too?!?! These kids!" states Zorro.
"Tasty snow too!" adds snow eating Jack.
A beautiful morning with an unfortunate blur spot on the camera almost the entire outing. Oh well, a fun time had by all on Rudy's longest run and Jack & Rudy's first Vail Pass run: 7.6 miles traveled with 600 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 21 MPH.

2018/2019 Season to Date: 74 days on the trails covering 400.0 miles with 35,600 feet of elevation climbed.
