Flat

Zooming through the forest on a fast, fast trail - wheeee!
Flying Zorro with sprint tucked Max as I am sliding out to the left slightly for an upcoming
fast & furious right bend in the trail. Zoooom!
This morning was our favorite "backcountry to zoom track" route. We start by cruising through the forest on backcountry trails:
Laying fresh tracks as we glide through the trees.
After a technical backcountry tour, we are treated with a fast & furious groomed loop tucked deep away in the woods:
Flying, literally flying, Siberians topping 25 MPH on the fast groomed loop.
Funny moment of the day... Max is known for rolling his patented snow angels to cool off in the snow. But, his angels typically happen at our midway break points or after the run is over (that is, when we are stopped). Well, today was a rare exception as Max did a "drop & roll" right in the middle of the trail as we were trotting along. I had to snowplow and drive my poles into the ground to stop quickly and not run into "flat tire Max". What a silly Siberian!
Screeeeeeech to a halt as I snowplow and pole drive to avoid the "drop & roll" Max on the trail.
"Aaaah, I just had to drop & roll!" demonstrates silly Max.
"Dude, we weren't even stopped! You are weird!" says still-trotting Zorro looking at goofy Max.

A fast, fast day with a silly mid-trail flat tire from Max: 8.7 miles traveled with 1000 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 25 MPH.

2016/2017 Season to Date: 59 days on the trails covering 456.6 miles with 48,000 feet of elevation climbed.
