It was a day of "laying fresh tracks" for Jack, Rudy and I on the trails on Peak 7!
The "power twins" leaning into their harnesses as they tow me along this beautiful trail of fresh, untouched snow! |
We found ourselves first on the trail, laying fresh tracks almost all morning long. Here's a great shot of the perfect conditions!
Fresh tracks fun! |
When were we not laying fresh tracks? Well, for one short stretch a moose had been on the trail before us. Nice of the moose to break trail for us at our highest/deepest point of the outing :)
Jack & Rudy shoulder to shoulder as they haul me along this moose track. For the curious, no, we never actually found the moose :) |
Come along for an impressive video clip of the speed brothers. Top speed in this clip? 22 MPH! That's pretty good for early season/early November conditions! Oh, the tracks you eventually see to our left are our "out tracks" on this same trail. We had the new snow all to ourselves all morning (except for the small stretch of pre-existing moose tracks).
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]
I stopped briefly by the Hallelujah Hut to check our time out on the trails and, well, I stopped...
"Stop, drop & ROLL!" says the silly snow angel rolling kids. |
Fun morning! Everybody ready for end of run treats?
"You bet!!!!" says the very happy, satisfied and ready brothers. |
A wonderful fresh tracks Thursday morning: 8.6 miles traveled with 800 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.
2022/2023 Season to Date: 13 days on the trails covering 89.9 miles with 7550 feet of elevation climbed.
