Flying around one of our favorite "zoom loops" this morning - wheeee!
Out-stretched & sprinting skijor partners towing me quickly around the zoom loop! |
The "zoom loop" is a groomed oval that sits far back in the forest. You have to backcountry ski in and backcountry ski out; but you get rewarded with an incredible fast loop for your in & out efforts.
Trotting along the narrow trail on our way to the zoom loop. |
Work your way to the zoom loop and the following video clip shows what we get rewarded with! Watch as we are flying along the "rolling up/down" zoom loop tucked away in the forest.
[watch on youtube if no video loads below]
We did two laps around the zoom loop this morning and then got rewarded with a nice view of Breckenridge Ski Resort on the way back out of the forest:
"Nice view, huh bro?" say Max & Zorro pausing to take in the view of Breck across the valley. |
At a quick break point of the day. Everybody having fun?
"Yes! Thanks for asking!" exclaims happy Max. "I was until you said 'wait'! What do we need a break for?" questions Zorro. |
Complex terrain to the zoom loop, 2 fast laps around the loop and then complex terrain again out of the zoom loop: 8.3 miles traveled with 800 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 22 MPH.
2015/2016 Season to Date: 31 days on the trails covering 259.3 miles with 26650 feet of elevation climbed.
