Wide

Conditions (trails, weather, sled dogs :) were PERFECT yesterday morning out at Breckenridge Nordic Center. Wheeee!

Wide angle shot to showcase perfect conditions: first tracks on a perfect
trail; beautiful bluebird morning and impressive sled dogs. Zoom!

It was an incredible day on the trails yesterday morning. We were beyond thrilled to find we were first tracks on the freshly groomed upper elevation trails at Breckenridge Nordic Center. Any tracks you see in the photos & videos are our own tracks as we redid sections of trail multiple times to enjoy the perfect day. Usually I crop photos a bit to give a closeup of Jack & Rudy. But, the day was so incredible, I decided to go with a few wide angle shots of the awesome day. Here we go with another wide angle showcasing perfect trails, weather and sled dogs :)

Stunning views all around!

Ok, enough wide angle shots to showcase everything, now let's zoom in a little on the stars of the day: Jack & Rudy. Can you say, "catching air," as we fly on by the Kathy's Viewpoint Warming Hut?

Zoom!

A little further along, how about "catching air" again :)

Floating above the trail as we cruise by the Hallelujah Warming Hut.

A fun tidbit to notice in a few of the photos. Notice Rudy running close to the "set classic tracks" in a few of the photos. Cross country skiers know it is rude to step on/over a classic track - skis only in the tracks. Now, Jack does not like running to close to the classic tracks - too much of an obstacle for him to avoid while topping 20+ MPH. Rudy, on the other hand, loves running 20+ MPH right next to the classic track. He will not step in or over the track, he just loves flooring it right next to the track. Funny, but VERY talented, kid!

Come along for today's "video minute" of the incredible conditions. You can also watch just how close, but never in, Rudy will run next to the classic tracks. I tell you, he's a very talented kid! Oh, Jack is no slouch either, he's just a "middle of the trail" fast running guy :)

[watch on youtube if no video loads below]

Now that was a fast & fun day, right?

"Oh my, we are FLOORING it today! First tracks yay!" says the ecstatic pair.

How to conclude a perfect day?

"With 'end of run' treats for all!" declares the happy, happy trio.

As I said, a zippy fast day of first tracks all morning long! 9 miles traveled with 900 feet of elevation climbed and a top speed of 25 MPH.

2021/2022 Season to Date: 82 days on the trails covering 672.4 miles with 63,600 feet of elevation climbed.
